Death Note

Warning: Spoilers! Do not read if you are planning on watching Death Note or ARE watching Death Note.

Hiya! I finished Death Note a couple weeks... or months ago, and thought I should update this blog. Death Note follows a boy by the name of Light Yagami, who finds a mysterious notebook lying around one day. He picks it up and finds out he can kill people however he wants with this notebook. Light then continues to kill criminals to create his "perfect world",  but detective L is hot on his trail, and Light is his prime suspect.

Anywhoo! This was really good, like it made me feel bad at the end, when Light dies even though he did all those terrible things. I also felt the need to rip someones head off when L died. That was a load of bull crap there. My favorite character hands down Was Nate "Near" River. He was so adorable and.... cold. :D

I won't babble on and on about this anime, but I will say that the writer/author was a freakin genius. This anime, in order for it to be what it is, had to be extremely well thought out. The main characters a basically geniuses for crying out loud! And Mello and Near aren't exactly stupid either in case you haven't noticed. I just gotta give props to the author. I have to, I was impressed.

The characters had this thought process about them, they thought everything out and were always a step ahead of everyone else. I was interested in everything they had to say as well so bravo to Tsugumi Ohba!

I have yet to read the manga (oh one of these days!) But I have read Death Note: Another Note: The Los Angeles BB Murder Case, and that was super good as well. It's a prequel to the series and follows Naomi Misora. She's investigating murders in Los Angeles caused by Beyond Birthday, the second supposed sucessor to L from whammy's House. But he wanted to create a case even L couldn't solve. It was really good and everytime they made a breakthrough I was like "Aha! That makes sense!" XD

The other prequel, L Change The World I have yet to read but I do have it and will be reading in within the next few days. My friend Justine has read it and she loves it, but then again she loves Death note more than me :D
Well, that's really all I have to say about Death Note Unless you want to know this really useless fact about me... My favorite pairing is BeyondXNear. They're my favorite characters, and they're just adorable together. Well, Adios! Here are some nifty videos!

Black Butler

Warning: MAJOR spoilers, so if you're planning on or already watching the series but haven't finished it yet, DO NOT READ THIS.

Hello people, this is my first post on here. This particular post will mostly be my thoughts on the anime Black Butler/Kuroshitsuji, seasons one, two, and the OVA's. I honestly completely adore this anime and was completely shocked at the end, and didn't know exactly how to feel. I guess with Ciel being represented as a butterfly in the ending credits of the second season should have been a little hint to me, but I didn't get it, so when Ciel ended up as a demon... well I didn't know what to do. I felt bad for Sebastian, because Ciel said he could have his soul, and now he has to be Ciel's butler forever.

Before I go any farther, I guess I should probably tell you what Kuroshitsuji is about. Well, as Wikipedia says:  The series follows Sebastian Michaelis, a demonic butler who is bound by a supernatural contract to serve Ciel Phantomhive, the twelve-year-old head of the Phantomhive noble family, and in return Sebastian will obtain Ciel's soul when Ciel has finished all of his tasks including getting revenge on the people who killed his parents; after that Sebastian is then allowed to kill him and take his soul.
The second season introduced a few new characters. Three new main ones, Alois, Hannah, and Claude, and a few minor ones. Wikipedia says: Kuroshitsuji II takes place in the second half of the 19th Century in England, where the Trancy household resides. It is set one year and three months after the ending of the first season.  Ciel is presumed dead in the first season, but Sebastian brings him back to life. The few episodes after the second episodes will mostly follow Ciel and his servants rather than the Trancy Household. The series will include the characters of the Phantomhive household. It is stated that here, Ciel had lost his memories including those about Madam Red's death, Grell and Soma.

Anyway, The series is really an excellent one, and the second season is very good compared to other anime sequels. In fact, I think I do like the second season better than the first one, but that might be for the sole fact that Alois Trancy is in the second season. And while we're on the topic of Alois Trancy....

At first I was shocked and a little afraid of this sadistic character. It was pretty obvious that he was messed up, because in episode 1, he gouged out Hannah's eye. Not only that, but one second he was dancing around all happy, and the next he got a dark look on his face and said "eat shit." This pretty much creeped me out, but I didn't want to judge Alois so abruptly, so I held off a bit longer, and i'm so glad I did. This, what, fourteen year old boy had been through so much it wasn't funny. He was kidnapped at a young age and forced to work at a slave at this village where everyone treated him poorly. His little "brother", Luca, adored Alois, or as Luca new him by his real name "Jim McCain", so much he wanted to make his brothers wishes come true. To do that, Luca signed a contract with a demon, and burned down the whole village because Alois said they should all die for treating them so badly. Luca then died leaving Alois alone. He was then taken along with some other boys to the Trancy estate. Lord Trancy was a known pedophile, and beat the boys and did sexual things with them. Alois then signed a contract with Claude, vowing to take revenge on the people who burned his village down and became head of the Trancy estate when lord Trancy died because he had beome the earls favorite toy.

It's sad because all Alois wanted was somebody, anybody, to love him. Then Claude comes up when Alois admits that he needs him, and just kills him. All to get Ciels soul. Selfish little demon monkey is what Claude is. It didn't help that Sebastian and Claude framed Alois, saying he was the one to burn down the Phantomhive mansion and kill Ciels parents, making Ciel want to kill Alois. I'm not saying that how Alois acted was justified in anyway. I think it's messed up how he beats Hannah and told her to strip and such, but because of his past, it's the only way he knows how to stay in control. Nobody taught him any different, and I think it's messed up what Claude and Sebastian, especially Claude, did.

Episode 21 of season one... let me tell you, that episode brought me to tears. It shocked the hell out of me that Baldroy, Finnian, and Mei-Rin acctually had... well... a hard past. It was sad that Finny was experimented on, and that Mei-Rin was a hired sniper, and that Baldroy lost all his team in the war. I didn't think they had such a past, and was extremely shocked. I never took the time to even think they were more than a bunch of clumsy idiots, and I regret doing so.

Overall, this anime was extremly pleasing to me, I was very happy with it and was sad it had to end. I never would have expected that Ciel was to become a demon, and that Sebastian would have to serve him forever. I was happy that Alois finally found love, and was reunited with Hannah. The ending saddened me though, it was sad that Ciel said goodbye to everyone and that he left for the demon realm.
The OVA's... well Ciel in Wonderland was very amusing, with Ciel in that cute Alice costume and then the dress from episode 4 XD I didn't really think that the bunny fit Sebastian, he looked really funny with his ears and bunny tail, and Ciels reaction when he saw it appear was hilarious. I also  really liked The Making of Kuroshitsuji 2, that one made me laugh. It was pretty neat how they did interviews with the characters and such.

I think that wraps my thoughts... but here are some memorable and pretty good videos for Kuroshitsuji.

Yeah, a lot, I know. But they're all pretty good.

Oh, and if you want to watch this anime, all 24 dubbed episodes are on justdubs.net, and the full second season is on youtube. :)
Goodbye!
